Communion and Solitude
Singleness gives us light.
At immeasurable distance stands one single star at the zenith.
This star is the God and goal of humanity.
In this world one is Abraxas,
creater and destroyer of one's world.

I forgot how to comment - I’ve not been here for a long time - but like this banner best, Dixie.

How to!
Professor Snape’s Office in Exquisite Miniature Detail by Stoneczene Godziny:
As my favourite character of J.K.Rowling’s Harry Potter series was and still is Severus Snape I wanted for some time to build his office in miniature. This project took me around four years to collect miniatures and the courage to finally build it. I wanted it to be something between what is written about the office in the books and what one can see in the movies. But it became much more to me as I have met wonderful Friends and Artisans in Blogland who not only encouraged me to finally build this miniature scene but also kindly offered their time and efforts and enriched this project with their wonderful miniatures. For that I am more than grateful and for me it is not only my but also my Friends miniatre office. Thank You All very much!
There are many more photos to see at the artist’s site.

moontiger5 asked: Just wanted to say hello to the Sevvies and Reggie too! Hugs to all of you!
The Sevvies hug you back happily and offer lavender and hope you are well. They are just tickled you said hello. Reggie bumps you with his curly little head, delighted to see you.
He’s never forgiven me for preferring God to him.
Of course one hates what one wrongs.
“It’s mediocre beyond belief.” “One performs according to one’s gifts.”
England’s pride is to succeed.
Perhaps you will succeed in teaching me humility - it is a virtue I’ve never mastered.
I love doing what I have to do and doing it well.
One must never drive one’s enemy to despair. It makes him strong.

random quotes scratched on a random piece of paper, out of context in the dark

Here is Little Sevvie, all bundled up in this cold weather. He is a Christmas Sevvie. See his beautiful scarf from severed_lies? The picture does not do it justice, he says, because it does not show the beautiful almost irridescent green nor the lacy pattern. He also has his shawl from his friend Billy at his church, which also has a nice diagonal pattern. This is his new wizardly black and silver Christmas blanket and his Christmas lavender. He also has his new button with a picture showing a wooly sheep. How happy and warm it is for him here with Reggie.
These are from little Sevvie. They are photos of a black ram who is truly named Regulus. As per the Whitman poem “I think I could turn and live with animals…”
moontiger5 asked: I so love your Sevvies. Gazing at pictures of them makes me feel all cozy inside. Is Big Sev also hand-crafted? Hugs!
I answered this, but somehow likely pushed the wrong button so it disappeared. I apologise for the delay. Big Sevvie is the Tonner figure, so he is not handmade, but he is still beloved. My dear friend sent him to me while I was still making Little Sevvie. I was a little startled opening the box. He had a hair net and looked a lot like my mother, with his fine nose and high dark collar. Both Sevvies send you warm hugs and are pleased as punch they make you feel cosy. We are all so glad you are enjoying our photos. How kind of you to mention it!

I am always quoting this, somehow. This exact portion of Song of Myself. I have my Rabastan quote it. I read it first in Monica Dicken’s World’s End series and it inspired me to read Whitman.
“I think I could turn and live with animals, they are
so placid and self - contain’d,
I stand and look at them long and long.
They do not sweat and whine about their condition,
They do not lie awake in the dark and weep for their
sins,
They do not make me sick discussing their duty to God,
Not one is dissatisfied, not one is demented with the
mania of owning things,
Not one kneels to another, nor to his kind that lived
thousands of years ago,
Not one is respectable or unhappy over the whole
earth.
So they show their relations to me and I accept them,
They bring me tokens of myself, they evince them
plainly in their possession.”

Morning friends. Somehow Biddo’s ears just looked adorable this morning, dear of him. He is the bunny.
